I was on the hill with Dick, Martin and Alan this week we met in Saas Grund on Sunday morning and climbed the Allalinhorn from the lift in breezy but sunny weather, the views of the Zermatt peaks was superb. The weather on Monday wasnt looking to promising so we climbed the Via Feratta on the Mittaghorn this is more of a protected ridge climb than a classic Via Feratta but is great fun but was a bit cold on the day with ice on some of the cables. On Tuesday we walked up to the Almageller hut which has recently finished a superb extension and renovation though due to cold weather was running out of water. We traversed the Weismies the next day in great conditions with a bit of Fresh snow from Monday on the ground. We headed round to Zermatt for the night then climbed the Breithorn from the first lift, a great end to the week.
