The excellent early season ski conditions are continuing in the Alps with many ski areas opening last weekend for the weekend, these included Les Contamines, Avoriaz, Grand Montet, Flegere and Le Tour. Courmayeur is now open full time as is Verbier and Cervinia, the helbronner lift reopens this weekend and Grand Montet is open full time from Saturday (6th). I have been out snow shoeing with my parents near les Contamines which was beautiful walking through snow encrusted trees. Last weekend we skied Les Contamines and Avoriaz, I made a short video so you can check out the snow. kate and I went cross country skiing at les Saisie on Monday which has over 100km of prepared trails.

We have had a huge dump of snow right across the Alps with snow lying to less than 500m and over a meter up high. There are no new ski areas open since our last report but we have been out on the skins at St Gervais finding amazing cover for the time of year and great powder. We made a short video to wet your appetite.
