How to skin uphill.
With your skis back on your feet release the binding heel clip, this can be done with the tip of your ski pole with a Fritschi binding but needs to be done before you put the ski on with a Dynafit model.
Slide the ski along the snow, don't lift the ski as this is much more strenuous, at the end of each stride push your weight down and the ski will grip the snow. It may help to pull the ski back towards you to engage the hairs on the base of the skin. Try to stand tall over the middle of the ski and push your weight down through your whole foot, if your weight is to far forward or back the skin can slip. If the skin isn't biting as well as you would like think about pushing down through your heel. Have a look at our video of correct skinning technique.
