Climb Mont Blanc Western Europe's Highest Mountain
Mont Blanc is probably the most famous peak in the Alps and an accessible goal for most fit walkers. Surprisingly it is often ascended by people in their first week of alpine mountaineering.
Experience
Depends on the style of trip you want. For the standard Mont Blanc below fitness and an ability to learn are most important, for the more adventurous trip experience in the use of an axe and crampons and some scrambling experience would be ideal.
What type of trip is it?
All our Mont Blanc trips are for a minimum of six days allowing three days of acclimatization and a three day window for the ascent of Mont Blanc itself.
If you are interested in a standard Mont Blanc week with the three day acclimatization phase at a 1:4 ratio then 1:2 for the ascent, we recommend Mont Blanc Guides.
If you are interested in something more adventurous in your acclimatization phase, requiring a ratio of 1:2, please get in touch and we can offer you some great routes to prepare on. Some examples might be the Gran Paradiso, the traverse of the Entreves, Mont Blanc de Tacul and many more to choose from.
What about kit & equipment?
You need to provide all your own clothing (please refer to the kit lists). We can provide you with technical equipment such as crampons, ice axes, harnesses, helmets, if required and of course ropes and climbing hardware. Boots can be rented in Chamonix if required.
How much does it cost?
We offer a price based on you hiring a guide on a daily basis plus all their expenses this allows maximum flexibility.
Private Guiding is 370 Euros per day plus expenses, please drop us an e-mail for an all inclusive price
When is the best time to go?
The Mont Blanc season begins in mid-June and gets underway in earnest throughout the months of July and August and then runs though to mid-September. We would advise missing August if possible as this is extremely busy time on the mountain and huts are bulging!
Typically a guiding week will start on Sunday and finish on Friday. We will meet you on the Saturday evening when you arrive to plan the week ahead according to your wishes and the latest weather forecast.
A Mont Blanc ascent is a great way to prepare for one of our Mount Elbrus climbs.
