Mont Dolent, Weismies and more....
Brian and Liz OConnor were out this week along with their son and the Grand parents. We had a warm up day on the Petit Aiguille Vert before heading round to the Fiorio bivi hut on the South side of Mont Dolent. We set off early the next morning to get the snow in the best condition before the sun hit the south face, but the wind was so strong we had to turn round 250m below the top. The next day we drove over to Saas Grund and walked to the Allmageller hut. Conditions on Thursday were perfect for the traverse of the Weismies, Brian and I hired off-road scooters for a fast descent from the lift to the valley. We finished the week with a full family outing to the crag in Le Fayet with granddad resurrecting his climbing career after 20 yrs.
