The final week of the summer
My last week of the summer was with Joe Malone, the start of the week looked great but the end looked really mixed so we tried to get as much in as possible before the weather changed. Kate joined us on Saturday and we traversed the Entreve from the Helbronner lift it was great to have the route to ourselves on a perfect day. We used the Midi lift to get to the start of the Midi Plan traverse; it was in the best condition I have done it in, superb snow under foot and blue sky over head. We had one more day with a good forecast so we had a super early start to catch the first Klein Matterhorn lift from where we traversed the Breithorn. We spent the night in Zermatt to see how the weather was going to develop; it wasnt looking to good so we headed down to Dorenaz near Martigny. We managed a couple of pitches before rain stopped play so we went and looked at the Chagal exhibition in town. We finished the week climbing a multi-pitch route in Val Ferret.
