Bruce has just arranged a deal with Dynafits UK importer Anatom to supply him with Dynafit ski equipment. We are very excited to be working with a top end ski touring company like Dynafit who are committed to develop the best kit in all aspects of ski touring and back country skiing.
We will be trying a full range of Dynafit kit over the coming months from lightweight boots to fat skis. Kate will also be skiing on Dynafit kit.
The kit we will be skiing is as follows;
Skis
Nanga Parbat, Mustagh Ata, Stoke with matching skins and ski crampons.
Boots
TLT5 TF-X, ZZero C TF, ZZero PX TF Women, Titan
Bindings
TLT Vertical FT, TLT Vertical ST, TLT Speed
Anatom are also the distributor for Back Country Access so we will be trying out the new Tracker 2 along with a few shovels and probes.
So far we have skiied the Mustagh Ata loads in every kind of snow and have been impressed, the ski goes uphill like a dream then copes with the crust, hard pack and the limited supply of soft snow we have had this season. The pre cut skins fit perfectly and save the traumatic experience of cutting your own skins. The new colour coded ski crampons mean that I actually take the right size with me in the morning. Bruce has had one day out on the Stoke's but with so little soft snow about we haven't had a chance to give them a proper go and the Nanga Parbats need the bindings mounted.
Onto the boots, the Titans have been great for a off the lift and day touring boot, Bruc'e brother was so impressed he went out and bought a pair. They ski superbly and have a great range of movement for touring. We have had a couple of days out on the ZZero's so far they feel great and will become the standard set up for the hut to hut season, they are a great balance between weight and contol. Finally I have had one run out on the TLT 5's they are so light they are effortless going uphill and are surprisingly ok on the descent feeling like a touring boot from a few years ago. These would be the perfect boots when you are combining skiing and climbing.
